AT&T Southeast Bargaining Report #70
Yesterday, our team met with AT&T’s representatives at the bargaining table several different times. Negotiations continued throughout the night, with our team stepping away from the table at 4:00 A.M. for some much needed rest.
Today, the AT&T Southeast Bargaining Team and the Utility Operations Team met together, with company officials, to discuss the various priorities between both contracts. Both teams understand that we are on a mission to make improvements for every single CWA member in District 3. Discussions at the bargaining table today encompassed every single job title in the AT&T Southeast and Utility Operations contracts. Our team continues to focus on making real economic improvements for members in all job titles. This is what CWA members have asked our bargaining team to accomplish, and they intend to do so. Considering AT&T’s public statements about “increased revenues” and “free cash flow”, we know the company has more than enough money to increase the standard of living for its employees.
When our members are marching together on picket lines across the Southeast, in protest of AT&T’s unfair labor practices, the camaraderie that exists throughout our membership is amazing. Thousands of us, across nine different states, have banded together, standing up to AT&T and fighting back against their bad faith bargaining tactics. Have you noticed that there are no job titles on our picket lines? We are one, and we are all in this fight together.
We are part of something historic, something that will not only change our lives for the better, but something that will change the lives of future generations. One day, people will look back on us, and say “those people had the courage it took to stand up and make a difference”. Even today, so many people across our great nation are looking at CWA members as heroes. We are carrying the torch for the American dream!
